Board of Directors
Through collaboration, leadership and commitment, Shepherd's Counseling Services' Board of Directors works to strengthen and guide the agency to ensure this unique resource of professional, affordable therapy services specialized to meet the needs of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
The Board provides administrative and fiscal oversight for the agency and also acts to ensure that the agency's fundraising objectives are met.
Who serves on Shepherd’s Counseling Services’ Board of Directors?
Professionals from many fields including law, project management, lending, counseling, and finance.
We are currently recruiting new members that fit with the culture and responsibilities of our board membership, and additionally we are seeking professionals in the areas of:
Our board members receive an orientation to serving on our board and also receive outside training in areas of their choice to expand and deepen their skills and knowledge towards their board service.

Mike Gale is a Project Manager in the IT field and brings his creativity, organizational skills and follow-through to help Shepherd’s carry out its mission in the community. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse himself, he has a unique perspective on the issue and possesses a strong commitment to further Shepherd’s mission of providing for the needs of adult survivors of child sexual abuse and of raising awareness in the community.

Russ Hanford came to Shepherd's board looking for an opportunity to give back to his community. He uses his business training and skills in his position as treasurer. He supports Shepherd's with his time because of the integrity and commitment of the staff and the courage and persistence of the clients Shepherd's serves.

Paige Hanley is a survivor and former client of Shepherd's. Having previously supported Shepherd's through fundraising and speaking at events, she joined the Board of Directors in order to more directly impact other survivors. She believes deeply in the type of help that Shepherd's is able to provide and is committed to making sure it remains available to future clients.

SaNni Hull practices union-side labor law with a small Seattle firm that represents most of the Seattle Building Trades. She joined the Shepherd's Board of Directors because she strongly believes in the critical community need for the organization's continued health and growth. SaNni's experience as an attorney brings critical analysis, legal knowledge, and zealous advocacy to Shepherd's Board of Directors.

Kristal McKinney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about supporting individuals to whole health through voice and self-empowerment. She joined the Shepherd's board to serve in its mission of helping adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to find voice and to feel accepted, safe, and supported in their recovery.

After practicing pediatric physical therapy for years, Ruth Pappas switched roles to stay at home mom and community volunteer.
